DBTS Executive VP, Tony Barrett, Joins Byte Back

(September 22, 2008) - On Tuesday, 9 September 2008, Tony J. Barrett, the Executive Vice President of DBTS, Inc. was selected to be on the Board of Directors of Byte Back, Inc., a Community Technology Center (CTC) that looks to close the "the digital divide" -- the gap that exists between those who have access to computers and computer training, and those who do not. This divide continues to be a socio-economic problem in Washington, D.C., a city that ranks eighth in the United States in computer technology jobs. For the past eleven years Byte Back has been serving unemployed and underemployed adults and at-risk youth throughout the Washington, D.C. area. Byte Back's classes range from beginning computers to web design and network administration. Byte Back's students obtain jobs, raises, and promotions as a result of their training. Approximately 87% of Byte Back's students are African-American, and 55% of adult students are women. Byte Back's programs create opportunities for disadvantaged people to get the training they need to build a career.

Mr. Barrett was selected to join the Board of Directors because of his subject matter expertise in the areas of technology, training and project management. "I'm privileged to be a part of such a worthwhile cause that's rewarding not only for the individuals served by Byte Back but also for society at large. We're helping disadvantaged citizens become technology professionals that are ready to improve their own circumstances and that of their community. You may be familiar with the proverb, Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime, Byte Back lives this proverb every day and I'm grateful to have been asked to serve in such an organization." said Mr. Barrett.
